This wonderful journey from Canterbury takes us out through the suburbs towards the coast, where we'll pass oast houses and the castles at Deal and Walmer. All passengers will receive a souvenir booklet with a map and details of the route to add interest to your journey. Our locomotive will tackle challenging gradients as we approach Dover which pays dividends as we reach the summit and are rewarded with views over the town and castle. When we reach the coast, with France just 17 miles away across the Dover Straits it is possible to spot Cap Gris Nez on a clear day. We continue along the coast to Folkestone and head inland. We will then pass through Ashford where our train reverses and we head back to Canterbury diesel-hauled.
This trip will be diesel hauled between Ashford and Canterbury West.
Dining passengers will be served a Champagne Cream Tea of scones with cream and jam.
